James Arthur Elliott-Sending all my Love to the Elliott Family Today


James Arthur ElliottElliott, James Arthur James Arthur Elliott - Born October 23, 1946 in Johnstown, PA. Jim passed away unexpectedly on May 3, 2009. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. He is survived by his wife Linda of 39 years, daughters and sons-in-law, Landice and Alexander Fox; Courtney and Gregory Itson; and Bethany and Stephen Holloway; grandchildren Evelyn Fox, Callan Fox, and his namesake, James Itson; his mother Betty Elliott, his brother Harry Elliott, and sisters Kathy Krygier and Diane Shea, as well as many other beloved friends and relatives. Jim was a 1968 graduate of Washington and Jefferson College, where he was also president of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity. He sat on the Board of Trustees and acted as Chair of the Finance Committee at the college until his death. Jim served as a Major in the United States Army Reserve and was stationed near the DMZ in South Korea from 1969-1970. Following service to his country, Jim earned an MBA from Rutgers University. He then worked at Ford Motor Company and earned a Masters in Economics from Eastern Michigan University. He and his family moved to Dallas in 1980 where they have resided ever since. After working for Solomon Brothers and First Boston, Jim has worked at Merrill Lynch since 1994. Jim served in many philanthropic positions in Dallas, including Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, Hope Cottage, and The Hockaday School. Jim was a man of honor, integrity and unlimited generosity. His loving spirit touched many lives, and he will be longremembered and deeply missed by all. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, May 6 at 4 pm at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Washington and Jefferson College and The Hockaday School.
